Starting February 1st, 2010, CentralOregonTrailcourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting will select one Central Oregon based, horse-related organization, business, service provider or community-based group every other month for a completely free website and hosting.

The rules:
- Only one entry per entity
- The applying entity must:
- not have an existing website
- provide logo and/or other images for website*
- authorize one (computer savvy) person from your organization to maintain the website (don’t worry, we’ll show them how)
- must be a horse-related organization, business, service provider or community-based group based in Central Oregon - On the first of each selection month – one selected entity will be notified via email. The selected applicant will have 3 business days to respond or the offer will go to another applicant.
- The design process may take up to one month
- 3 page maximum for the initial free design process, though once you learn how – you can add as many pages as you want.
*any photos/images you specifically want displayed on your website must be provided before the design process begins.
To enter
- Complete the online registration form (must be an authorized representative!)
- Do at least one of the following (for the entity being entered in the contest)
- post an horse-related EVENT on our Community Event Calendar - FREE
or
- submit a Standard Resource Directory Listing for our Resource Directory – FREE - Write a 250 to 1000 word well-thought out response to this question:
“How will having a website open a world of opportunity for YOUR horse-related Organization/Business/Service/Community based group?” – See Entries
Be sure to ask your family, friends, neighbors, strangers you pass in the street and anyone else you encounter in the next several weeks to visit CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and comment on the originality and compelling nature of your entry. The number and quality of the comments specific to your entry may impact the final judging process and will be used as a tie breaker (if necessary).
However, there are just a few other important considerations:
- Only Horse-related Organizations, Businesses, Service Providers and community-based groups based in Central Oregon are eligible to enter this contest.
- By submitting your entry, you acknowledge that you are the authorized representative for the entity being entered.
- Only one entry per person/organization/business/service/ group. So please be sure to coordinate with others in your organization before submitting your entry.
- By submitting your entry, you acknowledge that your entry will be published on this website.
- If an entry does not meet all of the criteria, it will not be published. After your entry is approved, we will send you a link to your entry.
- You may invite your family, friends and anyone else to comment on your entry but only one comment will be published from each person. (That way, no one can scam the contest and everyone has an equal opportunity to win.)
- Everyone is free to post comments on any or all entries but comments must be kindly said (even if it is constructive criticism) or it will not be approved for posting.
- Contest winners agree to give CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting the right to use your name, or home pages, or portions thereof, for advertising, publicity and/or editorial purposes without any further compensation for the same.
- Winners acknowledge that at the end of the first year of their free web site and free web hosting subscription, they will be responsible thereafter to renew their domain at $9.99 per year (or then current rates) in order to continue their web presence. Website hosting is free as long as you maintain the site.
- Contest winner will continue provide a reciprocal link to CentralOregonTrailcourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting, even after the initial free one year period.
- The decisions of the judging committee are final.
- There are no refunds, returns, exchanges, or any other devious way to cash in on this contest. The free websites are meant for those organizations or businesses that want a web presences and have been patiently waiting for an opportunity just like this.
- I view this contest as an opportunity to help Central Oregon’s Trail Course & Trail Horse industry grow and prosper - it happens to be a fun way of giving back.
- Once the winner has been announced Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting will contact the authorized representative and set-up a one-hour consultation.
- Once we’ve created the site, you will receive a user name and a password to that site which will control access to those pages, however is not a guaranty of exclusive access or confidentiality.
- You must be authorized by your organization to participate in this program and you must have its permission to use its name. CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting assumes no responsibility/liability for any unauthorized use of this service.
- The winner agrees to start building their website ASAP and put forth their best efforts in making the website a reality.
- Instructions regarding ownership of the FREE web site will be sent to the winner at the email address submitted with the winning entry.
- During the one year period – CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting reserves the right to post advertising in the form of banners or otherwise on the website. Users hereby authorize CentralOregonTrailcourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting to post advertising in the form of banners and agree that the content, location, size and rotation frequency of which shall be determined in CentralOregonTrailCourse.com’s sole discretion. Users will not be entitled to receive any compensation for revenues collected or other benefits received by CentralOregonTrailcourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting for such advertising banners.
The fine print – basically – let’s keep it clean
Your new website will prohibit and SHALL NOT:
- Display images or publish text that contain pornographic or sexually suggestive or explicit material of any kind;
- Use any obscene, indecent, or offensive language
- Post any materials that are abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, hateful, racist or illegal;
- Promote or provide instructions or information about illegal activities or promote physical harm or injury against any individual or group;
- Commit any acts of infringement against any other party such as copyright, patent, trade secret or any other intellectual property infringement. You further agree not to violate any third party privacy and proprietary rights and you agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting for any damages related thereto;
- Offer links to pirated computer software programs, make available tools that can be used for no other purpose other than for “cracking” (i.e., removing copyright protection from software), or make available serial numbers for software which can be used to illegally validate or register software;
- Display materials not appropriate for or that exploit children;
- Promote or solicit for participation in multilevel marketing or pyramid schemes;
- Conduct or display information on illegal raffles, sweepstakes or contests of any kind or on any such activity that requires a fee to enter;
- Publish URLs and/or hyperlinks to other sites that violate the provisions of this Agreement; and “spam” Internet users to promote your pages.
- Display material related to political campaigns for any candidate, proposition, initiative, etc.
CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting may, but undertakes no obligation to, review the contents of the winner’s website. If you are in violation of this Agreement for any reason, or if your website are or become otherwise unacceptable as CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting may determine in its sole discretion, your website, or any portion thereof, may be removed without warning, and your access to the website may be terminated in CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting sole and absolute discretion.
You agree that CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting is not responsible, and shall have no liability to you, with respect to any information or materials posted by others, including defamatory, offensive or illicit material. You hereby covenant not to sue and release and forever discharge CentralOregonTrailCourse.com and Sandra K. Mayernik Consulting from any such cause of action.
