Attention All Landowners: Deschutes County SWCD 2009/2010 Small Grant Program is Here!
Funding for The Small Grant Program is generated through Oregon lottery dollars and is a voluntary program that works within your framework and objectives to enhance and preserve natural resources on your property. Some of the goals for maximizing resource potential include: soil stabilization (reducing erosion in uplands and riparian), native bunchgrass and perennial grass recovery and enrichment, weed control, in-stream and riparian enhancements, irrigation efficiency, improve wildlife habitat, increase water quantity and improve water quality.

Equine Series: (Sponsored by Deschutes County 4-H and Central Oregon Small Farms program)
All sessions will be from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm, at the OSU Extension office in Redmond (located on the Deschutes
County Fairgrounds and Expo Center site, off of parking lot D); Cost $5/class; RSVP prior to class.
• January 14: Horse nutrition (feeds, supplements and pasture)
• January 28: General equine maintenance (vaccinations, de-worming, hood trimming and shoeing)
• April 8: Equine first aid
